1999 Rowe Bowl Contest

My fantasy football team just went down in flames so its back to college football to try and make a buck. Back for at least its 6th year, it's the 1999 Rowe Bowl Contest. Entry fee is still only $10 and the deadline is Friday, December 17. Rules are at the bottom. Please forward or copy this entry form to anyone you think would be interested in participating (spouses, friends, clients, etc.). A Microsoft Word version is also attached. Last year we had over sixty entries. Scoring and entries will be posted on my website (http://home.austin.rr.com/rowe/index.html).

____________________________________________

This year it looks like the BCS works. Wrong! Why? Marshall. Sure, I know that there are probably twenty teams that could beat Marshall but guess what. They haven’t played any of them yet. I hope they win their bowl game so there will be two undefeated teams this year. By the way, who did Virginia Tech play this year? A 8-4 Miami was it. Oh well on to the contest. Here is your chance to once again prove your football knowledge (or lack thereof). The rules are simple. Each bowl game is listed above along with the point spread. Circle (or highlight) the team you think will cover the spread. The spread indicates how much one team is supposed to beat another. For example, Florida St. is favored by 6.5 points over Virginia Tech. If you think Florida St. will win by 7 points or more then pick Florida St. If you think Florida St. will win by 6 or less points or not win at all then pick Virginia Tech. The tiebreaker will be based on the combined score of the Florida St.-Virginia Tech game. If you think the score will be 37 to 27 then write 64 (37 + 27) in the box above.

Entry fee is $10 and the payoff will be 1st place - 60%, 2nd place - 30%, and 3rd place - 10%.

Entry fee must be returned, faxed (512-472-8706), or e-mailed (mrowe@classic-cable.com) to me by Friday, December 17 at 5:00 p.m. Entry fee should be attached with contest or follow shortly thereafter. Mail it to: 515 Congress Avenue, Suite 2626, Austin, Texas 78701.
