The Tower Fantasy Football League
Season VII
Updated August 29, 1999
Welcome to the seventh year of fantasy football!
Here are this years rules.
Cost
Entry fee remains $150 per team and will need to be paid by the draft. There is a late fee of $25 a week until paid up. You can only own an interest in one team. Each team will get one roster move for free. Additional moves are $5 each until the first game after which each move is $10 plus $1 for each week into the season. Multi-player trades are considered one move but cost an extra $5 (no matter if it is a two player move or an eight player move). Free agency pick-ups are considered one move for each player (i.e., if you have two players get hurt one week so you drop them and pick up two replacements, then each move is priced separately).
Schedule
The regular season will last twelve weeks. The playoffs will last three weeks with the championship game the third to last week of the season.
There will be three divisions with seven teams in each division. Six teams will make the playoffs, the three division winners and the team with the next best record in each division. The two division winners with the best records will receive byes in the first round. The wildcard team with the worst record will play the remaining division champion in one first round game and the two other wildcard teams will play in the other. The two winners from these games will play the two division winners in the semifinals. The semifinal winners will play in the finals. The first and second round losers will play for consolation prizes.
The teams not making the playoffs will compete in a three week competition to determine who is the best and worst of the worst. The team with the most points each week (playing a starting lineup) and the team with the fewest points each week (playing its entire roster) will win prizes.
Tie-breakers for the playoff seedings will be based on (1) head to head records, (2) head to head points, and (3) league points. Individual game tie-breaker will be based on non-starter points.
Divisions
The twenty-one teams comprising the league will be divided into three separate divisions of seven teams apiece. The seven teams will play only teams in their division during the regular season. The three divisions will draft independently of each other. This means that a player can be drafted once by each division.
Draft
The draft is scheduled for August 27th in Las Vegas. It will be held at the San Remo Hotel (Conference Center One) at 3:30 p.m. Vegas time (5:30 p.m. Central). We will be in a conference room with a speaker phone to hook up with those who cant get to Vegas. Each team will draft a complete roster and back-ups. Line-ups will include a quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers and/or tight ends, a placekicker, a defense/special team, a head coach and five reserves (any position). Each team will be responsible for their own scouting.
The draft order will be randomly determined. The order will be 1 to 7, 7 to 1, etc.
Trades
Trades become official when all parties involved have contacted me. No trades will be allowed after week 10. I have the right to overturn any trade deemed unfair (i.e., bad team trading good player to good team for bad player).
Roster Moves
A team can drop a player and pick-up another player any time during the year (at the costs described above). A team will not be allowed to pick up a player that was on another team's roster as of week 10 until after the regular season. For example, I cannot pick up prior to the playoffs a player that was on someone else's roster as of week 10 and subsequently dropped.

Roster
Each team will start one quarterback, two running backs, three receivers/tight ends, one kicker, one defense/special team, and one head coach. Call lineup changes in to me by Thursday noon (Central Time). You have until the scheduled kickoff time of the first game of the week to change your roster. Final rosters will be posted immediately on the website (schedule permitting) after the first game of the week starts. As a courtesy to others, please notify your opponents of any last second changes.
