Final standings are posted.
Congratulations to Scott Hill who was the only contestant to correctly predict
that
Florida
would make it to the finals along
with Michigan St. As a result, he had a convincing ten point victory over Justin
Grubbs. Scott Dudley wins the second chance pool and Russell Swearingen the
women's pool. Additional congratulations go out to Spencer Hoopes who managed to
come in last place in the main pool, only 50 points behind the winner. Thanks
everyone who participated.

I had a little break between
trips and was able to update the reports through the semifinals. I think the
standings are pretty easy to determine. A few tiebreaker spots but not many.
I'll have everything updated Wednesday.
March 31, 2000
I will be out of town through
Wednesday, April 5th, and therefore will be unable to update any reports until
that time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The sweet sixteen is now set
for both the men's and the women's brackets.
Lot
's of good upsets in the second
round. Current leader in the men's bracket is John Sichter, who won it all last
year. Unfortunately for him, he picked
Temple
to win it all so it will be
difficult for him to stay at the top. In fact, about 100 entries have already
had their projected champion fall. As a result and similar to 1998, there will
be a second chance pool. Yours truly is leading the ladies bracket but only
because Louisiana Tech hit two free throws with two seconds remaining to win by
one point last night.

I want to thank everyone who has
turned in an entry so far. It's
10:00 pm
and I've already set a record for
number of entries in both the men's (192) and women's (11) pools. I'll expect
even more entries in the morning. For the women's pool, the pot will be split
70% to first and 30% to second. Tomorrow evening I'll post the final number of
entries and begin the scoring updates. I will update the standings each night
after the final game. If I'm around, I'll do it a little more often.

It looks like the software is
going to work great. All you need to do is click on the "Entry Form"
link and then fill out your brackets. Click the submit button and I'll soon
receive your picks via e-mail. You can also print that page for your own
records. I've already got one entry (from my daughter -- but it looks good).

I just got the updated software
and it looks like this will be the easiest year yet for submitting picks. Within
24 hours of the pairings being announced you will be able to submit your picks
in one of three manners: (a) submitting directly from this website; (b) using
the software similar to last year; or (c) if you are still old school you can
fax them to me. More information will be coming soon.
