The 2001 Season
Season IV
Update December 27, 2001
A new champion is crowned. In a game deserving of a championship, Trifecta uses their late roster moves to defeat The Penetrators 123 to 119. Trifecta picked up Kordell Stewart and, even more importantly, Bill Cowher a few hours before kickoff of Saturday's first game. It was Cowher's five points that made the difference. Congratulations to both teams for a well played final. Showing that they shouldn't be completely forgotten from last year, the CowHorn LongBoys took high team honors in the Toilet Bowl with 150 points. Low team honors went to a well deserving Bevo's Revenge who scored a total of 90 points. The North division ended up sweeping the low team honors in the Toilet Bowl. In the consolation game, Shag-adelic defeated 308 102 to 100. As a result, 308 wins its division, makes only one roster move (which is free), and still loses money. I see possible rule changes next year. Lastly, Coast-to-Coast sweeps the wild card loser consolation games with a 80 to 74 victory.
Thanks again to everyone for participating. Start saving your money for Vegas.

Update December 18, 2001
It's a wild card championship game as both division winners go down in the semi-finals. Trifecta defeats 308 98 to 88 and The Penetrators defeat Shag-adelic 98 to 83. The toilet bowl winners dominated this week. Breaking Wind took high team honors with 132 points winning by over 20 points. Bevo's Revenge (70 points) was just as dominating scoring 20 points less than the next worst team. In the wild card loser consolation game, Coast-to-Coast defeated Lawson's Men 105 to 78.

Update December 11, 2001
There were almost two amazing comebacks last night. The Penetrators did score enough last night to defeat Lawson's Men by one point (82-81). In the other incredibly close game, Trifecta held on to defeat Coast-to-Coast by one point (104-103). Coast-to-Coast picked up probably the only kicker last week who only scored one point. The Penetrators will take on Shag-adelic this week while Trifecta takes on 308. In the toilet bowl, Spice Boys won high team honors for the third time in the last four playoff weeks with 119 points. I guess they prepare all season for the toilet bowl. Lastly, ATX Alchi's took the low team honors(?) with 96 total points.
Send any feed back, suggestions, questions, lineups, etc. to me.

Update December 4, 2001
The Penetrators took the final high team honors with 139 points. They also tied with Trifecta for high position with 42 points. The playoff positions cleared themselves up with The Penetrators, Lawson's Men and Trifecta taking outright spots. The final playoff spot came down to a three way tie between Freddie Boom Boom, CowHorn LongBoys and Coast-to-Coast. In the first round of head to head records, CowHorn LongBoys and Coast-to-Coast had 2-1 records while Freddie Boom Boom had a 1-3 record. This eliminated Freddie Boom Boom. In the head to head between CowHorn LongBoys and Coast-to-Coast, Coast-to-Coast defeated CowHorn LongBoys 51 to 50 in an exciting week six match up. As such, Coast-to-Coast took the final playoff spot ending CowHorn LongBoys impressive two year reign as league champion.

Update November 27, 2001
One week to go in the regular season and very little has been determined. In the South, 308 has clinched the division title with a three game lead. Other than that, there are still five teams playing for the last two playoff spots. Every game this week has playoff implications. The North is a little clearer. Shag-adelic has clinched the division title and Trifecta has clinched a playoff spot. Five teams are still in the hunt for the final playoff spot. I don't remember a season where going into the last weekend only three teams had been eliminated from playoff contention. That is parity. Freddie Boom Boom picked up its second high team honors with 144 points. Lawson's Men picked up their second high position honors with running backs Marshall Faulk (8 points) and Garrison Hearst (48 points).

Update November 20, 2001
Two playoff spots have been locked up with division leading 308 and Shag-adelic both winning last week. In both the North and South, you still have six teams each with playoff potential. Shag-adelic took high team honors with 142 points while The Masters took high position honors for the second time with the duo of Rich Gannon (40 points) and Mike Vanderjagt (20 points).

Update November 13, 2001
High team went to Trifecta with 181 points. Fi Card Charlee took high position with receivers Marty Booker (8), Antonio Freeman (8), and Marvin Harrison (36) for a total of 52 points. With three weeks left, little has been decided on the playoff scene. In the South, only Starr's Cigars is out. 308 has a two game lead but six teams are within one game of second. Every game is a big game this week in the South. In the North, two teams have been eliminated from the playoff hunt. The big game this week is division leader Shag-adelic versus third place Breaking Wind.

Update October 30, 2001
The leaders keep winning and the teams at the bottom of the standings are running out of time. Starr's Cigars is one loss from elimination. In the North, Shag-adelic has scored two more points than Bevo's Revenge over the course of the season; yet, Shag-adelic is in first and Bevo's Revenge is last. Bevo's Revenge has had 76 more points scored against it than Shag-adelic. Timing is everything. Freddie Boom Boom had a big week with 172 points and took high team honors. ATX Alchi's won a weekly award for the second straight week. This time with high position as both QB Trent Green and K John Carney scored 32 points.

It took six weeks but every team now has a win. Starr's Cigars defeated Sparky's Oilers in the "I can't ever remember to turn in a lineup" Bowl. In the North, only two games separates first from last in a tight playoff race. Two games separate five teams in the South. ATX Alchi's won high team with 145 points. Spice Boys took high position with their receivers scoring 55 points.

Four weeks into the season and there are only one undefeated team (Shag-adelic) and one team without a win (Starr's Cigars). The Penetrators took high team honors with 141 points. Sparky's Oilers took high position with the pair of QB Grbac (25 points) and K Carney (35 points).

Update October 2, 2001
Who are the worst undefeated teams in the country. My vote would go to Texas A&M and 308. The wins haven't been impressive but they've been wins. Three undefeated teams remain and two of those square off next week. Only two teams have not won a game so far. In a low scoring week, Coast-to-Coast won high team honors with 112 points. Lawson's Men had the highest scoring receivers with 35 points.

Update September 11, 2001
The fist week is finished and some things stay the same - both 308 and the CowHorn LongBoys are winners. The North division took both high team and high position. Trifecta beat 308 by two points for high team with 131 points. The Masters took high position with 41 points (Gannon 28; Vanderjagt 13). The other thing that is still the same - Fi Card Charlee (previously the Hoosiers) scores 49 points. They had one player on their bench that outscored their entire starting lineup. Maybe next week.
Update September 10, 2001
