The Tower Fantasy Football League

Season XIII

Updated August 21, 2005

Welcome to the thirteenth year of fantasy football!

Here are this year’s rules.

Cost

Entry fee is $200 per team and will need to be paid by the draft. You can only own an interest in one team. All roster moves the day of the draft are free. These free roster moves can be made anytime the day of the draft. The deadline ends at midnight (Central time). Each team will get one additional roster move for free. Additional moves are $5 each until the first game after which each move is $10 plus $1 for each week into the season. Multi-player trades are considered one move but cost an extra $5 (no matter if it is a two player move or an eight player move). Free agency pick-ups are considered one move for each player (i.e., if you have two players get hurt one week so you drop them and pick up two replacements, then each move is priced separately).

If a balance remains unpaid after the following week, that team will be precluded from making further roster moves until paid up. For example, if a team makes a roster move prior to the games of week two they will have week three to make payment and not impair their ability to make roster moves. If the balance is still unpaid after week three, they will no longer be allowed to make roster moves until all unpaid balances are collected. Teams will be able to offset weekly winnings against balances due. Teams will not be able to offset potential playoff money or money for winning a division against roster move fees until after the regular season. No roster moves will be allowed until the initial entry fee is paid.

Schedule

The regular season will last twelve weeks. The playoffs will last three weeks with the championship game the third to last week of the season.

There will be two divisions with eight teams in each division. Six teams will make the playoffs, the two division winners and the two teams with the next best record in each division. The two division winners will receive byes in the first round. The second place teams in each division will play the third place team from the other division. The two winners from these games will play the two division winners in the semifinals. The semifinal winners will play in the finals. The first and second round losers will play for consolation prizes.

The teams not making the playoffs will compete in a three week competition to determine who is the best and worst of the worst. The team with the most points each week (playing a starting lineup) and the team with the fewest points each week (playing its entire roster) will win prizes.

Tie-breakers for the playoff seedings will be based on (1) head to head records, (2) head to head points, (3) division record and (4) league points. Individual game tie-breaker will be based on non-starter points.

Divisions

The sixteen teams comprising the league will be divided into two separate divisions of eight teams apiece. The two divisions will draft independently of each other. This means that a player can be drafted once by each division.

Draft

The draft is scheduled for August 27th in Las Vegas. The North division will draft at 10:00 AM Central (8:00 AM Vegas time). The South division will draft at 5:00 PM Central (3:00 PM Vegas time). Each team will draft fifteen players. Starting line-ups may consist of a quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, a tight end, a placekicker, a defense/special team, and a head coach. Each team will also maintain five reserves (any position). Each team will be responsible for their own scouting.

The draft order will be randomly determined. The order will be 1 to 8, 8 to 1, etc.

Trades

Trades become official when all parties involved have contacted me. No trades will be allowed after week 10. I have the right to overturn any trade deemed unfair (i.e., bad team trading good player to good team for bad player).

Roster Moves

A team can drop a player and pick-up another player any time during the year (at the costs described above). A team will not be allowed to pick up a player that was on another team's roster as of week 10 until after the regular season. For example, I cannot pick up prior to the playoffs a player that was on someone else's roster as of week 10 and subsequently dropped. Owners will first perform transactions on their own team using a prioritized waiver wire pickup system up to a determined time each week after the first week of the season, then will have full control to perform transactions approximately 6 hours after the waiver wire deadline has expired.

Scoring

Scoring rules can be found at the RealTime Fantasy Sports website.

Roster Changes

Lineup changes will be made by each team at the RealTime Fantasy Sports website. Changes can be made at any time prior to the scheduled start of the last game that week. You will be unable to remove or add a player whose game has already started.
