The Wonderlickers got strong performances from every position – all 10 in double digits; five were 20+ points – and scored 206 points (highest score of any team the week) and defeated the Penetrators (150 points) to win their first title. This was first time more than 200 points was scored in the title game. Also, the 150 points by the Penetrators was the most by a losing team. This was also the largest margin of victory in the title game. In the other battles, Cleveland Steamers defeated I Bet She’s Wet 202 to 156 in the consolation game while one hit wonders defeated Not In My Chop House for the second week 183 to 179. The six playoff teams scored the highest four scores of the week and all six were in the top 8. I guess they were the cream of the crop. In the toilet bowl, Bevo’s Revenge easily won their second high team honor scoring 171 points. The CowHorn LongBoys scored the fewest points of the playoffs (140) to take low team honors. Overall, three teams netted a profit for the year, an additional 11 teams got a portion of their entry fee back, and two teams lost more than $200. 308 was one of them but Hoosier Daddy had the toughest year as the only team to not have any weekly or playoff winnings.

Thanks again everyone for participating and have a great holidays!

December 10, 2019

The finals are set. North champion the Wonderlickers defeated Cleveland Steamers 172 to 162. Third place the Penetrators defeated South champion I Bet She’s Wet 157 to 140. The Wonderlickers are going for their first championship while the Penetrators are going for their second having won it all in 2015. I Bet She’s Wet will not three-peat but is still only the second team to go back-to-back (CowHorn LongBoys). In the wild card losers game, one hit wonders defeated Not In My Chop House 191 to 119. The toilet bowl saw two new winners as Bevo’s Revenge took high team honors (162) while Sparky’s Oilers took low team honors (144).

December 5, 2019

Both third place teams won in the wild card round to set up the division championship games. The Penetrators defeated one hit wonders 168 to 112 and Cleveland Steamers also scored 168 points to defeat Not In My Chop House (141). The Penetrators will take on I Bet She’s Wet while Cleveland Steamers goes against the Wonderlickers. In the Toilet Bowl, Pierre Delecto took high team honors with 180 points. Smells Like Teen…Spirit had been practicing all season for the Toilet Bowl and it paid off winning low honors scoring a roster total 157 points.

November 26, 2019

Bevo’s Revenge won their second high team honor in the last three weeks scoring 189 points and beating Not In My Chop House by one point. The Buffalo Bills defense scored 17 points which allowed Cleveland Steamers and one hit wonders to share high position. This is Cleveland’s fourth weekly prize and ohw’s fifth. The NFL Pickem contest was very close as four teams were within one game of each other. # YESSIR and Cleveland Steamers ended in a tie with 115 correct guesses and will split the prize. Cow Horn LongBoys and one hit wonders had 114 correct guesses. The Wonderlickers and Not In My Chop House ended up tied with the best record in the North with the Wonderlickers winning the tiebreaker. There was also a tie for the final playoff spot between Cleveland Steamers and # YESSIR but Cleveland wins the tiebreaker and sends # YESSIR into the toilet bowl. I Bet She’s Wet was the outright division winner in the South with a league best 9-3 record. The Penetrators and one hit wonders tied for second and make the playoffs.

November 19, 2019

It was a clean sweep for one hit wonders who took both high team honors (188 points) and high position (100 points) behind the receiver corps of Jamison Crowder (21), Stefon Diggs (29), Michael Thomas (28), Cooper Kupp (8) and TE Hunter Henry (14). The playoff situation is pretty uncertain as there are five teams still in the hunt in each division. There is a three way tie for first in the North with two of those teams playing each other with a guaranteed playoff spot for the winner. Two teams on one game back and play each other in an elimination match. In the South, there are two teams tied for first and guaranteed a playoff spot. The top four teams in the standings play the bottom four teams so we’ll see if there are any upsets. Two games separate the top four teams in the NFL Pickem contest so it is wide open as well.

November 12, 2019

The weekly winners were runaways this week. Bevo’s Revenge took high team with 204 points winning their first weekly prize of the season. The Wonderlickers won their fourth weekly prize and the second at running back scoring 79 points with the RB quartet of Melvin Gordon (19), Aaron Jones (29), Chris Carson (18), and Nick Chubb (13). With only two games remaining in the regular season, the playoff situation is still tight. The Wonderlickers are alone in first place in the North with three teams one back and two more two back. In the South, I Bet She’s Wet has a one game lead over the Penetrators with two teams two back. The Pick Em standings are also close with 9 teams within five games of each other.

November 5, 2019

It was a clean sweep for Coast as they took high team honors with 195 points and high position (78 points) with QB Russell Wilson (57) and K Harrison Butker (21). This was their first weekly awards. The standings are still tight with three games remaining. In the North, there are two teams tied for first with three teams one back and one two back. In the South, I Bet She’s Wet is alone in first place with two teams one back and two teams two back. Three weeks ago, there were two teams without a win and one team with one win. Those three teams now have six wins in the last three weeks.

Last week CowHorn LongBoys won the battle of winless teams against Smells Like Teen ... spirit. This week CowHorn LongBoys won their second game in a row. Also this week, Teen’s starting QB was on a bye week, their TE was out, and their kicker was released 10/7. Does that mean they aren’t trying? Yes! Does it mean they can’t win a game? No! Teen won their first game of the year scoring 152 points in spite of three players (including the QB) scoring zero points. Congrats to Teen (if you read this)! The team they beat – the newly renamed Pierre Delecto – tied for the high position with Jacksonville Jaguars defense/special teams. 308 also had Jacksonville. one hit wonders got back on the winning track after a two-game losing streak scoring a league high 220 points. In the North, the Wonderlickers have a one game lead over three teams. In the South, there are two teams tied for the top with two more one back.

October 22, 2019

In the lowest scoring week of the season so far, the Wonderlickers won high team with 177 points. This is their third weekly prize. Cleveland Steamers also won their third weekly prize taking high receivers for the second time with 75 points (Julio Jones 15, Adam Thielen 12, Cooper Kupp 11, Kenny Golladay 3, Darren Waller 34). They did this in a losing effort which is unusual. In the marque game of the week winless Smells Like Teen…spirit took on winless CowHorn LongBoys. SLTS starting lineup included two players with a bye, one player who had been dropped weeks before, and one player who got hurt and didn’t score a point. That makes four players starting who didn’t score. Yes, they lost by 19 but only because Aaron Rodgers scored 64 points by himself. Congrats to CowHorn LongBoys on their first win of the year. The standings are very tight. In the South, one hit wonders lost for the second week in a row and are now in a four-way tie for first with two other teams within two games. In the North, there is a two-way tie for first with two more teams one back and two more two back. Every game matters at this point.

Week 6 brought us to the half way point of the regular season, the last undefeated team lost, and a winless team won. one hit wonders lost to Rodman’s Broke Dick and became the last team to get their first loss. RBD also won high position honors (their third weekly prize) with the RB tandem of Carlos Hyde (19), Damien Williams (11), Ezekiel Elliott (25), and Chris Carson (25) scoring a total of 80 points. High team honors went to T-rump open for Put-in who scored 215 points in winning their first game of the year. That leaves us win no undefeated teams but we still have two teams without a win – Smells Like Teen…spirit and CowHorn LongBoys. As for the half way point standings, the North has four teams tied for first with three more within two games. The South is tighter with one hit wonders losing. They still stand alone in first but have five teams within two games of them.

October 8, 2019

Week 5 had some weird flashbacks to week 1. In week 1, Sparky’s Oilers took high team scoring 217 points. In week 5, the Penetrators took high team honors scoring – you guessed it – 217 points. Also in week 1, Rodman’s Broke Dick took high position honors (tie) with the combination of Deshaun Watson and Wil Lutz. They did it again in week 5 scoring 66 points with QB (59) and K (7). The combo scored 65 in week 1. No change with the undefeated (one hit wonders) or winless teams (T-rump open for Put-in, Smells Like Teen…spirit, CowHorn LongBoys). In the North, 7 teams are within two games of each other. In the South, 5 teams are within two games. We could have our first teams eliminated from the playoff hunt this week.

October 1, 2019

one hit wonders finished week four as the lone undefeated team and took high team honors to boot (191 points). I Bet She’s Wet lost their first game of the season. We still have three teams without a win – T-rump open for Put-in, Smells Like Teen…spirit, and CowHorn LongBoys. Sparky’s Oilers and the Penetrators shared high position with the Chicago Bears defense (17 points). We’re one-third through the season and there are three teams tied for first and three more one game back in the North. In the South, you have your lone undefeated team with two teams one back and three more two back.

September 26, 2019

Cleveland Steamers made it a clean sweep taking high team honors (217 points) and high position honors (165 points). The receiver tandem of Julio Jones (29), Mike Evans (51), Adam Thielen (23), Cooper Kupp (36) and TE Darren Waller (26) scored more points than 8 teams. Two previously undefeated teams went down in week 3 (Not In My Chop House and the Penetrators. That only leaves one hit wonders and I Bet She’s Wet as undefeated. Coast picked up its first win of the season so T-rump open for Put-in, Smells Like Teen…spirit and the CowHorn LongBoys are the only winless teams.

September 17, 2019

It was a clean sweep for the Wonderlickers who took both high team honors (226 points) and high position (47 points) with the running back tandem of Chris Carson (11), Austin Ekeler (24), and Nick Chubb (22). After two weeks and there are only four undefeated teams left – Not In My Chop House in the North and one hit wonders, I Bet She’s Wet and the Penetrators in the South. Conversely, four teams are winless with T-rump open for Put-in in the North and Coast, Smells Like Teen…spirit, and CowHorn LongBoys in the South.

I think Sparky’s Oilers likes the rule changes. I was comparing scoring to last year week 1 (160.9 vs 161.9) and the eye-catching item was Sparky’s Oiler scored a league low 73 points last year (34 points fewer than the second worst team, Coast). This year they score 217 points to win high team honors (3 more than one hit wonders). It was also a good week to have QB Deshaun Watson who scored 46 points. Both Sparky’s Oilers (again) and Rodman’s Broke Dick had Watson and a kicker who scored 19 points (SO – Stephen Gostkowski and RBD – Wil Lutz) and shared the high position honors.
